How I Work

Get In Touch

You can get in touch via email: admin@devernonpsychotherapy.co.uk.
Telephone contact: you can leave a voice or text message and I will contact you back as soon as I am available.

Initial Session

Our initial session will consist of assessing and understanding your problems and identifying an agreed problem of focus for therapy. I will then agree on goals that would be worked towards during therapy sessions.

Therapy Sessions

Each therapy session will last around 50 minutes and consist of collaboratively setting an agenda each week, working towards problem list and goals of therapy that may include recent incidents during the week linked to the problem of focus.

Therapy sessions are very collaborative and you will be actively engaged in session tasks.

Each week there will be an agreed setting of a between-session task for the following week which will be reviewed at the start of the following therapy session.

Listen, allow them to speak and feel heard. Be a gentle kind voice to their most distressing moments. Offer empathy, compassion, and grace so they are able to receive it. Allow them to know they have your undivided attention and trust in your ability to preserve their thoughts and feelings with confidentiality and care. Offer them light at the end of the tunnel they need to walk through. Offer them hope, light and a way to move forward. Offer them light
